Deaths Reported To The Coroner

These are deaths that could be sudden or unexpected or whose death may be due to industrial disease or even potential criminal activity. Registration cannot take place until the Coroner releases their paperwork after completing their enquiries.

Unless the cause of death is difficult to ascertain or subject to a Police enquiry there should be no major delay in arranging a day for the funeral service to take place.

When a Post Mortem examination has taken place in most cases we should be able to ensure that the family will still be able to attend the Chapel of Rest to pay your last respects. We would advise you otherwise if we feel it would be in your best interests no to see the deceased.
