owned by the person who has died is known as the personal
representative (also known as the executor
if named as such in a Will or the administrator
if there is no executor named or no Will).

If the whole estate totals less than
£5,000 it may be possible for it to be released
on production of a Copy Death Certificate issued by
the Registrar to the personal representative.
Larger Estates.

Office in order to get funds transferred they will
issue one of three documents.
- Grant of Probate issued when an
executor is named in a legal will.
- Letters of Administration when no
executor is named in a will.
- Letters of Administration where there
is no will made.
Anyone of the above Grants will allow
